Last year at this time I was essentially unemployed and barely blogging. Although I tried to make the best of it at my high school reunion ("I work part-time, but I'm keeping my options open!" Big Smile.), I was stressed. I had just lost my dad in a motorcycle accident. The Star was 14 and about to start high school. The Magician had flunked English due to procrastination. The Artist was showing his work at Sixth Street Gallery, but feeling increasingly under-appreciated there.
This year I am fully employed! At the best job ever! Just two bikable miles from my house! And I apparently love exclamation points!! I have been accepted to grad school at Portland State University. The Star is beginning to be interested in driving. She drove the 4th of July golf cart a bit and I only yelled once. The Magician flunked both English and World Studies due to procrastination. The Artist, no longer showing his work at Sixth Street, will be involved in a new gallery opening in the next month or so. We have a new puppy.
Next July I will have just completed my second 4th of July at the Reserve. I'll be about a third of the way through my graduate degree. The Star, now 16, will be driving, and her brother will have passed all his 8th grade classes--because he miraculously learned that procrastination is BAD. The Artist, wildly successful at his new gallery, will also be half done with his Associates degree in multimedia. Our puppy will no longer be a furry land shark who bites the hell out of all us.
And life will be good. [Cue sound of angels]
Stole this blog idea from Swistle by way of Miss Zoot.
