We usually make a point of avoiding all shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. We've hiked; we've gone to the beach; we've stayed in and watched movies.
Today, however, the kids wanted to see Black Friday for themselves. So we went to Target and Fred Meyer. They were not particularly busy. Perhaps we were supposed to be there at 5am, not 11am, to get the full effect.
We bought some wrapping paper.
No one has completed their Christmas list yet, so it's difficult to get started. We're on a budget, of course, (like the rest of America) so we need to make sure that we get things we need, or at least want.
On my list so far: pajamas.

I did most of my shopping at the Biz Baz on Saturday (I bought myself quite a few treats, too...). My list is pretty short this year because most of my family has agreed not to exchange gifts and I'm making little things for as many folks as possible, too. I'm most excited about putting up Grandma's silver tree and wrapping gifts to put under it and then just looking at it a lot for the next few weeks. ;-)
