Study Topics

I'm writing a book--and by "writing," I mean that I have an entire novel in my head, but hardly a word on paper. It is a story that was inspired by The Artist, his shitty childhood and his overactive imagination. Good thing it doesn't rely on my childhood or my imagination, since both are rather uninspiring.

The following topics may show up in the "I Read Books" section on the sidebar (and here I'll use bullets for the first time in my blog because I just found that option):

  • South Carolina
  • Order of the Eastern Star
  • Inter-racial relationships
  • Crows and ravens
  • Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome
  • Norse mythology
  • Racial "passing"
  • Muscle cars
  • Toxoplasmosis
  • Southern cooking
  • Superstitions
  • Bone marrow transplants
  • Washington State Ferry system
  • Teen pregnancy
  • Peroxide hair bleach
  • Topeka tornado of 1966
Novels take a lot of research.

I can't wait to read this!!!!!My dad was called in the National Guard to work the Topeka Tornado, but I was not heard from yet at that point, so I don't have many details. And Mom was in the Eastern Star... I used to go with her as a toddler to help set up the hall for the meetings. I got to unwrap and lay out all kinds of weird ceremonial objects on tables - and it was the highlight of every month in our dull, small central Kansas hometown.
