1. I spent $70,000 on my undergraduate education and 15 years later, my annual household income is only 56% of that total.
2. I want a small flock of backyard chickens --and my own dog.
3. If I didn't have kids, I wouldn't still be married. However, I'm very happy to be raising children with The Artist.
4. One of my fantasy goals is to complete RAGBRAI, the border to border bicycle ride across Iowa.
5. My mother died in 1988 and her ashes are still in a plastic box in my closet. This makes my husband not want to be cremated.
6. I don't usually have an addictive personality, but I can't buy General Foods International Coffee because I get hooked on it. If it's in the house, I'll drink so much of it that I have trouble falling asleep and it's the first thing I think about in the morning when I wake.
7. Twice I've inherited a significant amount of money, and twice I've squandered it.
8. I weigh somewhere around 190 pounds. I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life --including when I was 9 1/2 months pregnant. Worse than the number of pounds, however, is the shame and loathing I feel about my body.
9. When we lived in Canada, I thought often about killing myself, but my life insurance had a "no suicide" clause until April 2005. By that time I felt much better.
10. My fabulous 5-year birth control expires next March and although I've pretty much convinced myself that having another baby is a Bad Idea, that would be the logical time to reconsider.
